ATP Professional Tennis Tour Makes Return to Vallarta in March
The Challenger Tour is a professional circuit that essentially serves as a feeder system for the proper ATP Tour. Launched in 1978 with 18 events in a limited number of locations, today’s tour has grown to more than 180 events in 40 different countries.
Puerto Vallarta, Mexico is hosting the Puerto Magico Open for the ATP Challenger Tour in March of 2023. This tournament will bring world–class tennis to the city, affording fans and locals alike the opportunity to experience live, professional tennis. The Puerto Magico Open is part of the ATP Challenger Tour, which is the second–highest level of professional tennis. The tournament will take place at the beautiful, open–air complex of the Puerto Magico Tennis Center, featuring two outdoor hard courts, four outdoor clay courts, and a fully–equipped clubhouse.
The Puerto Magico Open will bring in some of the world’s top players, many of whom compete on the ATP World Tour. The 2018 edition of the Puerto Vallarta Open was named the top tour stop on the 2018 ATP Challenger Tour schedule.

The tournament will feature both singles and doubles competitions, with a total prize fund of $125,000. . The tournament will be a great opportunity for Puerto Vallarta to showcase its culture and hospitality. The city is already well–known for its vibrant nightlife and amazing culture. With the addition of the Puerto Magico Open, it will become even more popular with tennis fans.
